Open water swimming is a dangerous sport and anyone participating in the event will do so entirely at their own risk and will not hold the organisers (Active Sports Events Ltd), sponsors or anyone else involved in or with the organisation of the event responsible for any accident, injury to self or others, loss or damage of property or any other incident related to the event. By entering a Big Cotswold Swim event, you are agreeing to these terms and conditions and you are agreeing to be personally responsible for all your own property and are declaring that you are fit for the event and are of suitable health and well being with no known medical conditions that could effect your ability to participate safely and without risk to self and other competitors. The event organiser and refereeing official’s decision is final. The race organisers and officials, at their own discretion, retain the right to stop any athlete during any point of the event due to concerns over their own health or safety.
From the minute the entry is received by the organisers, the event starts to incur costs in making this a great event for all. Unfortunately, we cannot simply refund 100% of entry costs when a participant can no longer compete. Therefore, If an entrant is no longer able to participate in the event, then the following withdrawal rules will apply;
Refund Rates for the June 2022 event are:
Before 1st May 2022 – 50% Refund is available
After 1st May 2022 – No refund is available
Refund Rates for the September 2022 event are:
Before 1st August 2022 - 50% Refund is available
After 1st August 2022 - No refund is available
Withdrawals must be made in writing to the race office and the date of the withdrawal will be effective at the date post marked.
If you are worried about the time taken to post, then please call at the point of withdrawing and we will register the request pending postage of confirmation.

Cancellation is extremely unlikely and the organisers will take all precautions to avoid it, but should cancellation occur for reasons out of the organisers control, then competitors will be notified at the time will receive a partial refund where available.
Should part of the course be unavailable for safety reason or reason out of the organisers control, then the organisers reserve the right to adjust the distances for each element of the event or to cancel any element of the race.
